Name: Marek Borowiński.
Age: 28.
Education: graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz.
Occupation: the owner of DAB design studio, the manager of the training-consulting centre IWP.
Having graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz in 1998, Marek Borowiński founded his own design studio. He was awarded at "Interfashion '97" and "Projekt '98"for his design for fabric collection. In 2000 the Institute of Industrial Design awarded his collection design with the title "Dobry wzór” (Good design/example). Marek Borowiński organises seminars and courses on the subject of personality development, design trends, the function of colour in interiors as well as colour psychology. He shares his knowledge with others in TV or radio programmes and through press articles concerning design. Marek Borowiński is also a cofounder of Lodz Forum for Tendencies in Upholstery Fabrics.
He expects of himself and his employees to be loyal, dedicated, well-organized, as well as systematic in verifying and controlling the tasks in hand. Marek Borowiński believes that there is no recipe for a designer or the whole team’s good work. In his opinion the idea should be adjusted to the demands of mass production in such a way that the product does not lose its originality.
He likes sailing together with friends on Mazurian Lakes. Marek thinks this sort of activity is not only relaxing but it also gives him a sense of freedom. At the weekends he usually goes jogging or goes to the countryside where he likes to paint. He meditates a lot, which helps him maintain inner harmony. He is also keen on motor racing.
